“Sunlight” has both benefits and drawbacks for our skin. If the skin is exposed to excessive or intense UV rays, it can lead to irritation, sunburn, melasma, dark spots, or even severe skin conditions. Furthermore, sunlight is a primary trigger for melanin production, which is the main cause of melasma, dark spots, and dull skin.

UV rays are divided into two types that many people are familiar with:
UVA (A stands for Ageing): These dangerous rays penetrate deep into the dermis, damaging the strength of elastin and collagen beneath the skin, leading to premature wrinkles.
UVB (B stands for Burning): Most intense in the morning and evening, these rays cause sunburn, stinging, and irritation, and can eventually lead to skin cancer if not properly protected.
Therefore, sunscreen is an essential product for our skin. In daily life, it is impossible to avoid sunlight and UVA/UVB rays, so protecting your skin from sun damage is something no one should overlook.

Which type of sunscreen can effectively protect our skin and suit our lifestyle?

  • Choose a sunscreen that offers broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays. It’s even better if it includes protection against blue light, as we are increasingly exposed to it from smartphones, fluorescent lights, and more.
  • For the intense sun in Thailand, you should choose a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. SPF (Sun Protection Factor) indicates the level of protection against UVB rays. Therefore, the higher the SPF, the more effective it is at preventing UVB damage.
    • SPF 15 protects against 93% of UVB rays
    • SPF 20 protects against 95% of UVB rays
    • SPF 25 protects against 96% of UVB rays
    • SPF 30 protects against 96.7% of UVB rays
    • SPF 45 protects against 97.8% of UVB rays
    • SPF 50 protects against 98% of UVB rays
  • Choose a sunscreen with a PA (Protection Grade of UVA) rating that suits your lifestyle. PA indicates the level of protection against UVA rays, while the “+” symbols represent the following levels of effectiveness:
    • PA+: 1–4 times UVA protection (Low protection)
    • PA++: 4–8 times UVA protection (Moderate protection); ideal for those working indoors.
    • PA+++: 8–16 times UVA protection (High protection); ideal for those working outdoors.
    • PA++++: 16 times or more UVA protection (Very high protection); for constant outdoor exposure.
  • Those with sensitive skin should choose a “Physical Sunscreen,” also known as a “Non-chemical Sunscreen.” These sunscreens reflect UV rays rather than absorbing them, preventing irritation to delicate skin. Look for formulas labeled as “Hypoallergenic” (tested for low allergic potential) and free from fragrances, dyes, mercury, and alcohol—such as the Acseine Super Sunshield Series.
    • ACSEINE Super Sunshield BRIGHT FIT (SPF50+/PA++++) is a milky sunscreen lotion that provides hydration, tones up the skin for a clear, glowing finish, and protects against pollution.
    • ACSEINE Super Sunshield EX (SPF50+/PA++++) is a makeup base sunscreen that balances skin oils and helps brighten the complexion for a naturally smooth look.
    • ACSEINE Super Sunshield BRIGHT VEIL (SPF50+/PA++++) is a makeup base sunscreen that controls oil, reduces dullness, evens out skin tone, and provides excellent coverage.

Acseine’s sun protection range is developed specifically for sensitive skin, featuring the ACS (Allergen Control System) to filter out potential irritants. Additionally, our exclusive PV (Perfect Veil) technology ensures that sunscreen agents and makeup do not come into direct contact with the skin, making it gentle and ideal for those with delicate or sensitive skin concerns.
